Memorial Weekend Adventure

This weekend (pre-bedrest!) we attended the Memorial Day Tribute to Wounded Warriors event in The Plains, VA. It was a super hot day but we doused ourselves in sunblock, took a ton of water, and made the best of it! The event was held at the gorgeous Great Meadow Event Center and there ended up being a bit of a breeze once we arrived so that made it more bearable. Our goal was to not only help out with the wounded warriors charity but let the kids have a fun time since we have been cooped up inside so much lately while I have been recovering. I think the highlight for them was the bouncy house...can you believe they have never been in one?

The highlight for me -since I grew up in the 80's- was seeing the Ectomobile from Ghostbusters!!!! They also had some great props from the movie too! Peanut would not go near it since it was blaring the Ghostbusters theme song, it was a bit spooky...but Bobo had no problem going up to it for a few pics.

All in all it was a great DAY...night, not so much >.< I ended up hemorrhaging and having to be rushed into the ER....hence the bedrest. I think between the heat and all of the walking around, it's what did me in...but my kids enjoyed themselves and I am OK for the most part, so to me... the day was worth it. In the future I think I will be taking the Doc's advice a little bit more seriously when they say take it easy though!
